Hi, we’re Sam and Jess, the husband-and-wife duo behind Kirby Film Company. Based in Bowling Green, Kentucky, we’re passionate about preserving the moments that matter most to you.
What started as a spark of curiosity quickly became a shared passion, blending Sam’s years of videography experience with Jess’s newfound love for photography.
Sam has been a professional videographer since 2013, working with everyone from major brands to small businesses. Kirby Film Company was born when Sam decided to focus more personally on storytelling through videography, and everything truly clicked when Jess discovered her talent behind the lens. These days, we’re constantly pushing each other to grow, gifting each other new gear to elevate our work, and striving to deliver timeless photos and videos that our clients will treasure forever.
What we love most is being trusted to document the heartfelt moments in people’s lives—anniversaries, family milestones, and intimate celebrations. While we don’t do wedding photography, we pride ourselves on offering the same level of care and attention to detail for every session we book.
As a husband-and-wife team, we know how special it is to capture not just memories, but the emotions behind them. We approach every project with authenticity, kindness, and a sense of responsibility to get it just right. We’ve been in your shoes, and we want to give you the kind of experience we would have dreamed of for ourselves.
Of course, no story would be complete without mentioning Scarlet, our golden doodle and self-appointed team mascot. She’s a big part of our lives—and might just pop up in a few photos here and there!

“I’ve been a professional videographer since 2013, with over 12 years of experience telling stories through film. As the owner of Vid Monster, a creative agency here in Bowling Green, Kentucky, I get to help businesses grow and share their unique stories every day. It’s incredibly rewarding, but when we shifted exclusively to B2B work, I realized I missed something deeply personal—capturing the moments that truly matter to people on a personal level.
That’s what I love most about Kirby Film Company. Being trusted to preserve your special moments feels important, almost like time travel. Through video, we don’t just relive a moment—we reconnect with how it felt, and that’s what I strive to capture. The more our clients trust me to do my thing, the more I can surprise and delight them, which is always my ultimate goal.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually working on music projects, spending time with Jess, or chasing after Scarlet, our golden doodle and team mascot. Jess constantly inspires me to be more patient, more kind, and more intentional in everything we do—and that inspiration is at the heart of Kirby Film Company”

“Photography started as a personal interest for me—a creative outlet outside my day job as a dental hygienist. It quickly became so much more. Learning from Sam gave us a way to connect through something he’s so skilled at, and as my confidence and abilities have grown, photography has become one of my favorite ways to express creativity and connect with others.
What I love most is giving our clients keepsakes they can treasure forever. I’m a people person at heart, so getting to know our couples and families feels natural—I love hearing their stories and finding ways to bring their personalities to life in photos. I just try to be myself, keep things comfortable, and make each session a reflection of who they really are.
Working as a husband-and-wife team has been an incredible experience. We’ve learned to sharpen each other’s skills—whether that’s Sam teaching me technical tricks or me helping him fine-tune a wedding video with a bride’s perspective. When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me spending time with Scarlet (our golden doodle and honorary team mascot) or enjoying time with friends and family.”
